I'm thankful, just sayin...

It's strange- at first I think I have so much to say, not that I'm always right or always talking, but now that I have the floor it's a little like uhhhh, duuuuh.... Ok, so I guess a great place to start is with my husband. He's a great guy who works too hard and is always ready to help other people, but every year about this time he starts to get the urge to make major changes in the house before the holidays! On the one hand it's great because who doesn't want a new look to dazzle the family with at Thanksgiving, so I shouldn't complain. On the other hand, it's really hard to baste the turkey when your man is laying the new floor in the kitchen, while watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Then there was the year I got all my fall cleaning done by the second week in November, and two days later the dear man decided to "bust down that wall", a project he had been thinking about for a few months. The dust was unreal, but not as bad as the earthquake that hit when I came home from work and saw a gaping hole where the closet used to be. That was a bad one, lots of damage- I think that's the year I went on the little happy pills...Things are better this year; we're in a new house, and last week my husband and my daughter installed gorgeous laminate flooring in my kitchen, family room and bedroom- a good two weeks before Thanksgiving. And that's something to be thankful for.
